Henna Belly Art

Make your belly beautiful

I am also an experienced professional henna artist.  I do henna (mehndi) for many special occasions including (and especially!) pregnancy.  Henna is one of the gentlest things you can put on your skin and is safe during pregnancy.  It’s a beautiful way to celebrate the life growing inside you!

If you are a doula client of mine I will give you a 15% discount (my fee is $50 per hour and an entire belly usually takes an hour or two).

Mehndi is perfect for baby showers, Mother Blessings (or Blessingways), and to encourage a mom who may be on bed rest or having a difficult pregnancy.

Traditionally a woman is hennaed in her eighth month to protect her and her baby during birth, then again after the baby is born.  The mother is not allowed to do housework until the henna wears off!

Here is a video of what a pregnancy appointment with me is like, start to finish!  It begins with a design consult, then I sketch a few things out, then apply the henna.

A quick word of warning. If you use Amy’s doula services, she is likely to paint a henna picture on your belly. [...]
